Steve Roehm: Bio

At the present, I have three projects that occupy my time.
1. The New Standards
2. The Neighborhood Trio
3. The Twilight Hours.

They all start with "The" which make them all the more legitimate.

The New Standards

The New Standards are John Munson, Chan Poling and
Myself. It's a pleasure working with two of Minnesota's
finest artists. We do a ton of stuff so go to the link and
see what's happening.

The Neighborhood Trio

The Neighborhood Trio is Myself on Vibes, Brian Roesler on Upright bass and Dan Schwartz on Guitar, Lap Steel and vocals. This group is not the same as my old Trio(Your Neighborhood Trio). I begged and pleaded with Brian and Dan to have a more original name but I lost. We do originals and lots of cool covers. It's more funky than jazzy. Check out the links page to see what's going on.

The Twilight Hours

The Twilight Hours are Matt Wilson, John Munson, Myself on drums, Dave Salmela and Jacques Wait(or Tony).
We play Matt and John's songs. It's fun to play with Matt again. I've toured a lot with Matt back in the late 90's.

RHOMBUS

From 1999 to 2003 I fronted a band called Rhombus.
I wrote all the songs and played bass. I have some MP3's listed under the music tab. Check them out. I also have
discs for sale.
This band feature:
Shane Oslund/ Guitar,vocs
Cory Eichen/ Keyboards
George Marich/ Drums

The album "Button Pusher" was recorded by Brad Yost at
Flight Time studios. I can't thank Brad enough for the opportunity.

ELECTROPOLIS

ELECTROPOLIS was a band that defied description.
I played Drums. Kelly Rossum played electric trumpet.
Michael Ferrier electro sax. Michael Obrien played bass.
Brian Roessler replaced Obrien. Damn that Obrien!!!

Total punk/funk with all the elements of jazz improv.
We called it "free rock".

I plan on releasing a lot of unpublished stuff be I recorded everything we did. So keep you eyes pealed.

Your Neighborhood Trio

Your Neighborhood Trio got me off my day job back in 1995-96. The original guitars was my life long friend Ben Glaros. Ben was replaced by Bill Bergmann. Bill was replaced by Clay Moore. Michael Obrien played Upright bass. We played weekly at The Coffee Gallery and Jitters. We played lots of weddings and parties. Our run came to an end after Michael moved to New York and Clay moved back to Texas . I
retooled the Trio to fit my current tastes and it is now called The Neighborhood Trio. Yes, very original. I know this.

Dan Wilson

Over the last few years I've played with Dan Wilson.
He's a pleasure to work for and with. We've had some amazing shows. I play on half of his new album "Free Life".

Me Again

I went to the University of North Texas. I studied drumset and mallets. That's how I learned the Vibes. Yes, I play a Vibraphone(Vibes if you're cool) not a xylophone.
